Take a packed lunch and have a picnic in the grounds.

The castle ruin is excellent and it really transports you to another age. The Norman tower is a true wonder and a sight to behold. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and the kids were impressed too. There are lots of interesting exhibits to look at and there are also some good informational leaflets to take home. I liked the place as I felt my kids learnt alot about the period. I would say that this place is probably best to visit in the summer as it is really a great site when the sun is shining. If you are looking for a fun and educational place that the whole family will enjoy then I would not hesitate to recommend Conisbrough Castle.
