Go between April and September to view the battle scenes and make more of a day of it. Slendid picnic areas
Wow what a great place! Both fun and educational for the family. You must go on a day when they are reenacting the actual battle, otherwise you just get the empty battlefield and the information centre, which if great as the information is very interesting, but when the battle events are taking place there are also lots of other activities which you can do as well as tents selling medieval dress, weapons, art, pots and pans etc. Then there are also tents where you can learn about actual life during the period and where you can learn about the war of the roses, and the fall of Richard the III by Henry the VII at the battle of Bosworth. Very interesting and very fun for all the family.
